Discovery and community for India’s craft sector.
Handmade.World, hosted by Creative Dignity, connects artisans, designers, buyers and support organisations across India’s craft sector.
Client: Creative Dignity

The context.
Creative Dignity needed a digital hub for a decentralised craft ecosystem. Artisans, designers, buyers and support organisations needed to find one another, communicate and learn across regions and languages.
No shared place for the craft sector.
Artisans, designers, buyers and support organisations had no common way to find one another. Artisans had little visibility, communication was split across languages and regions, and there was no reliable way to track engagement or growth.
- One platform for four very different groups of users
- Visibility for artisans and craft producers
- Training and learning resources that reach every region
- Multilingual, voice-enabled communication
- Engagement tracking across regions
One hub, many journeys.
Each group gets its own profile and entry point, and all of them share the same directory, events and learning resources. Payments, identity verification and messaging are built into those journeys, and dashboards track engagement across regions.
The system in three steps.
Craft, region, work and contact in one record.
Search across crafts, districts and materials.
Community, learning and market links from the same profile.
Inside the workflow.

Find people across the ecosystem
Profiles can be searched by craft, location, technique and certification. The directory connects artisans, maker groups and enterprises.

Find events and exhibitions
Craft fairs and exhibitions are listed by city and date, and organisers can submit their own.

Decisions behind the work.
Four user groups share one directory instead of four separate products.
Payments, identity checks and messaging are built into each journey rather than linked out.
Releases are phased, so each group's journey goes live when it is ready.
We are grateful for the journey we embarked on with Wysbryx - it was like charting a new terrain but Wysbryx could understand exactly what we were thinking and wanted. They have been very proactive, efficient, flexible and resourceful at all times and we value our partnership very much.
